The sounds of papers being shuffled and drawers being opened can be heard. In the distance, John questioningly calls out for Martin.
More shuffling can be heard as John approaches. He opens a door and starts addressing Martin before he realises no one is there. As he calls out for him again, Martin opens a door and answers him, startling John in the process. John asks if the trapdoor is open and Martin tells him it has been locked for weeks.
He wonders why John is asking but as John starts to respond, he notices a running tape recorder and tells Martin off for leaving it running again. The tape cuts off just as Martin starts to protest.
